Business data protection before disaster strikes.
Backups are only useful when they can be restored. Gigatech helps identify what data matters, where it lives, and what recovery actually looks like after theft, hardware failure, corruption or ransomware.
Backups are only useful when they can be restored.
- Data discovery: identify critical folders, systems and user devices
- Offsite strategy: reduce single-location risk
- Recovery thinking: plan how the business gets running again
- Routine checks: verify backups stay healthy as part of managed IT
Pricing
R120/month per device + R1.00/GB/month metered cloud storage (discounted at volume). Billed for the files-and-folders backup agent used by Gigatech's own IT clients.
Hosting-account backups (the daily off-server backup included with Web Hosting / VPS plans) are a separate, already-included capability — this pricing is for backing up your own PCs, laptops and servers.
Common backup gaps we find
- Data stored only on one laptop or desktop
- No recent restore test
- External drives kept next to the same PC
- Accounting or operational files not included
Coming soon: standalone Backup-as-a-Service

Offsite backup questions.
Why are offsite backups important?
They reduce the risk of losing the original files and the backup at the same time — through theft, hardware failure, power damage or ransomware.
What should a small business back up first?
Accounting data, customer records, supplier documents, quotes, invoices, operational files, shared folders and anything the business cannot easily recreate.
How do we know whether backups actually work?
Backups should be monitored and periodically tested with a real restore. A backup that can't be restored isn't a reliable recovery plan.
Can backups help after ransomware?
Yes, if clean versions exist and are protected from the same incident. Versioning and access control matter.
